If you think “Game of Thrones” fans are taking the end of their favorite series pretty hard, let us introduce you to fans of the “Nashville” TV series.
It’s been almost a year since the soapy country music saga ended, and two years since Connie Britton‘s character, Rayna James, was killed in a car crash, but fans still flock to see the mansion that stood in as the country crooner’s family home.
It’s located in Nashville (of course!), and any fan who wants to step forward can now buy the place for the reduced price of $16 million.
The 20,533-square-foot European village-style estate has bounced on and off the market since 2010, when the price was set at a whopping $22.5 million.
The series began shooting at the location in 2012, and the home was listed even while the series was underway. The price dropped gradually over the years while filming continued. Before the most recent reduction, the asking price was $18 million.
“This property is so special and unique—from its expansive land to its majestic European style and unparalleled amenities—that the new price should draw some fresh attention and interest. It’s an absolute steal compared to some luxury homes in L.A.,” says Mauricio Umansky, founder and CEO of The Agency.
And it wasn’t just the exterior and the imposing porte cochère that were used as backdrops in the show. The brick kitchen with the arched and stainless-steel hooded stove, black countertops, and generous island was almost a character in and of itself.
As you browse through the listing photos, you’ll see a few other familiar settings. The family often strummed guitars and watched television in the den.
And we’d bet some of the mansion’s fancy bedrooms were used as well—they look quite familiar.
There are six bedrooms—five are spacious ensuites, and one is a private-entry apartment with its own living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry.
In total, there are eight full baths and three half-baths on the stately 6-acre lot. Rayna, her performing daughters, and her love interest, Deacon, needed their space.
The mansion is constructed of stone, brick, and wood, which the builders who finished the home in 1999 used to create remarkable and timeless features. Take the dramatic, two-story stacked-stone entry, with an amazing floating spiral staircase.
The mansion is also chock-full of rare, one-of-a kind artifacts, including a mantel from a former Versace property.
And rooms like the grand solarium, with its marble floors, soaring skylight, and arched French doors, are also impressive, as is the 3,000-bottle wine cellar with room for more than 50 guests to dine.
The grounds are equally posh. The long, stately driveway leads past immaculate landscaping to that famous porte cochère in front. In back, there’s a charming two-stall barn, a pool, spa, and a pool cabana with a grand brick fireplace, as well as a luxe outdoor living room.
And for all those grand parties, events, and weddings that we never got to see, there’s on-site parking for up to 300 cars! Pull up and make an offer on this famous TV mansion.
