Prior to Oscar Win, Viola Davis Got Away From Home in Granada Hills
The gods are shining on actress Viola Davis. Before the star snagged an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in for her role in “Fences” in February, she found a buyer for her home in Granada Hills, CA in mid-December.
We don’t see too many celebrity homes out at this northern outpost of the San Fernando Valley, but Davis’s former suburban pad now comes complete with an A-list pedigree. The price to follow in her footsteps? Only $1.15 million, a little less than the $1.17 million she dished out for it in 2005, according to Variety.
The five-bedroom, 4.5-bath, beige brick and stucco house sits cheek-by-jowl with its neighbors. The home features a two-story foyer, curved staircase, dark hardwood floors, and a living room with gas fireplace and large windows.
The newly remodeled kitchen, with dark cabinets and light stone countertops, has a center work island that separates it from a breakfast space and family room with built-in wet bar. The master suite boasts a double-sided fireplace and separate sitting room. The quarter-acre lot also includes a saltwater swimming pool with waterfall.
Davis, who stars on TV”s “How to Get Away With Murder” traded up real estate-wise last year by buying a $5.7 million, 7,500-square-foot Tuscan-style villa in Toluca Lake.
