Priscilla Presley Sells Longtime Family Home in Los Angeles

Elvis’ widow has left the building.

A Los Angeles home owned by the Priscilla B Presley Trust is now pending sale. It was listed for $3,650,000 in early May, and is “being sold as-is in its current condition with no credits or repairs by seller.”

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home doesn’t exactly look like a place suitable for a Presley. After all, Priscilla Presley, who is 73, has launched her own glamorous furniture line, and the listing photos don’t display any of the pieces she’s created.

Instead, the photos show older appliances and the type of comfy furniture and accessories more suited to your parents, or even your grandparents.

And there’s a reason for it. The name Joseph Beaulieu also appears on the property records. Beaulieu was Presley’s stepfather. He married her mother after her father, Navy pilot James Wagner, was killed in a plane crash when Presley was only 6 months old.

Presley announced on her social media accounts that Beaulieu passed away on Jan. 4, 2018.

Mansion Global reported that Presley’s mother, Ann Lillian Wagner-Beaulieu, who passed away in 2005, had also lived in the home for many years.

Presley bought the traditional style home for her parents in 1976, three years after her divorce from Elvis. Back then, she paid $170,000 for it.

With both parents gone, it stands to reason that Presley would want to sell the house in the quickest, easiest, and most efficient way possible. The listing details state the home is “an incredible opportunity for a new build or major fixer.”

The 2,499-square-foot ranch, built in 1949, is in a prime Brentwood neighborhood in the Kenter Canyon area. With its beamed ceilings and wood floors, it’s an accommodating family home.

It has a well-tended pool in back, and lovely French doors that lead out to the spacious, sloped backyard. Also, the roof appears to be brand-new.

The house sits on a generous corner lot and is located on a private cul-de-sac, mainly surrounded by larger estates that appear to have been more recently remodeled.

It’s likely that a developer quickly snapped up Presley’s parents’ home with the intention of building a giant mansion in its place. A spec home in the area could list for upwards of $10 million.

Hanging on to the home for decades was an excellent business decision, as the median listing price for area houses now sits at $2,699,000, and a brand-new mansion nearby is listed for $21.5 million.
