Rent DJ Paul Oakenfold’s Hollywood Hideaway for K a Month
We’re wondering if you get a built-in EDM soundtrack when you lease the Mid-Century Modern home of British DJ and record producer Paul Oakenfold. The music mastermind is renting out his home in the Hollywood Hills for $7,995 per month.
The guy who pioneered trance music bought the four-bedroom, four-bath, 2,825-square-foot home in 2015. He paid $2,965,000, which is a fair price in this upscale boho neighborhood in the Outpost Estates behind the Hollywood Bowl.
Although it sits just a few minutes from the busy 101 Freeway, the hills shield it from noisy traffic, giving it a privacy neighborhood residents Salma Hayek, Jason Statham, Adam Levine, and Bryce Dallas Howard have enjoyed over the years.
Oakenfold is only the second owner of this post-and-beam home, which was built in 1953 by architect Robert Boyle.
Boyle, who was Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar-nominated chief production designer, designed the open floor plan, expansive glass walls, vaulted ceilings, and ebony hardwood floors. The house was remodeled several years ago, and a new kitchen and baths were installed.
Potential renters may come for the privacy in the remote cul-de-sac, but they’ll stay for the views of the Los Angeles skyline to the Pacific Ocean.
The 53-year-old Oakenfold has done a remarkable job of staying current and in demand, though he’s too busy flying to gigs around the world to enjoy his hilltop home. Also known as “Perfecto” and “Electra,” he has provided remixes for recording artists including U2, Madonna, and New Order.
