Rihanna Reportedly Leaving Pitch-Perfect Penthouse Rental in NYC

Maybe even for a wildly successful pop star such as Rihanna, rent can be just too damn high. The Barbados-born singer has reportedly dropped her pricey New York City penthouse rental, which is now on the market for a whopping $16.95 million, according to multiple news reports.

The singer had rented the high-end unit since 2013, for a head-spinning $39,000 a month, and the monthly lease recently increased to $50,000, the New York Post reported.

You could certainly “find love” for this stunning penthouse. Spanning the top two floors of the building, the 7,000-square-foot unit includes a 2,400-square-foot wraparound terrace.

The top floor is accessed by a key-locked elevator. It opens to the living room, which features oversize windows, a 13-foot-high-ceiling, concrete flooring, and a wood-burning fireplace.

The open layout includes a chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances. There’s a steel-and-wood floating staircase, media alcove, dry bar, and powder room off the kitchen.

The outdoor terrace delivers gorgeous views of the city and makes a perfect perch for hosting parties.

There are three full baths and four bedrooms, including the master suite with a dressing room and walk-in closet.

This two-floor penthouse is one of two in the building, which formerly housed a light manufacturing company. The property converted to condos in 2004. Bordering Soho, Nolita, Little Italy, and Chinatown, the location has become a hot destination for bars, restaurants, and shopping.

Perhaps Rihi did the math and decided it made more sense to put her dollars toward the Hollywood Hills property she recently purchased for $7 million.

The apartment is owned by NYC-based photographer Antoine Verglas, who bought it in 2005 for $6.11 million, according to Variety. He has reportedly put it on and off the market since 2009. Dana Power of Town Residential has the listing.
