Sting Finally Finds a Buyer for His Rock Star NYC Duplex
It looks like everything the musician Sting does is magic—he’s rumored to have secured a buyer for his Central Park West penthouse for a reported $50 million, according to Variety. The address is shown as “in contract,” according to public records.
The reported sale price, though high, is a lot less than the $56 million it was listed for in May, when it zoomed to the top of our most expensive listings.
The two-floor penthouse is located in A.M. Stern’s limestone building, on the west side of Central Park, and offers views of the park and city skyline.
Sting, whose real name is Gordon Sumner, and his wife, producer and actress Trudie Styler, are the original owners of the unit, which they bought in 2008 for $26.98 million, according to the New York Post. The 5,417-square-foot unit was custom-designed and comes with a 400-square-foot terrace.
There are three bedrooms and a home office, which could be turned into a fourth bedroom. There’s a dramatic gallery off the elevator, open living room with city skyline views, sculptural staircase, formal dining room, media room, and chef’s kitchen with staircase. A unique gas fireplace separates the sitting room and library with built-in shelving.
The white-glove building offers amenities such as a 24/7 doorman, fitness center and pool, private restaurant, wine rooms, business center, and playroom.
