Tampa Bay Rays Pitcher Drew Smyly Selling His Dallas Condo
Drew Smyly began the year with a victory, although it wasn’t on the field. The 26-year-old Tampa Bay Rays pitcher won an arbitration case against the team for a $1.1 million raise in February. Perhaps the pay raise has given him enough dough to upsize his digs—Smyly is selling his condo in Dallas for $449,000.
We’re not sure exactly why the Arkansas-born southpaw is selling the place. Smyly’s Twitter says, “live in Dallas—work in Tampa,” so he’s probably not leaving the Big D entirely.
Listing agent Sue Krider remained tight-lipped about the hurler, but she did say the two-bedroom pad is located in the “quiet Oak Lawn pocket” on a “popular and quiet street.”
The condo measures in at 2,024 square feet and features a rooftop deck with cityscape views. You can immediately start barbecuing because “The grill stays,” Krider says. She notes that the deck, along with the “open kitchen,” are the home’s most standout features for potential buyers.
Coming out of spring training, Smyly made the Rays’ starting rotation. He’s started the season with an 0-2 record, but is averaging over a strikeout per inning pitched.
