John McCaw—former owner of both the Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver Grizzlies—is selling his mountain lodge in Idaho for $14 million.

The seven-bedroom, nine-bath home was built on the banks of Big Wood River, just outside the resort town of Ketchum, ID.

McCaw and his three brothers turned their late father’s failed cable TV and radio company into an early front-runner in cellular phones, eventually selling the new company to AT&T in 1994 for $12.6 billion. Today, the McCaw family is the 65th wealthiest in America, with a combined net worth of $4.5 billion, Forbes estimates.

The McCaw brothers have largely stayed out of the spotlight, outside of their purchases of massive homes, luxury cars, and gorgeous yachts.

This waterfront property is the “perfect setting for family gatherings, ski getaways, or corporate retreats,” according to the listing agents. It’s certainly big enough to host the board of directors: The 11,226-square-foot home sits on 3.5 acres, with views of Bald Mountain and its world-famous ski runs.

Built in 1978, the home has a circular driveway with a porte-cochère, which is a hotel-style, covered entrance. Inside, the rustic-style home features exposed-beam cathedral ceilings, antler chandeliers, multiple fireplaces, and large windows throughout.

The large kitchen has an industrial Wolf range that would look perfectly at home in a restaurant. Above the range is a wall-mounted broiler. The kitchen is anchored by a large island.

Designed for entertaining, the house features a walk-in wine cellar, a wet bar, and a dining room that seats 12. Elsewhere, the master bedroom comes with a sitting area and fireplace, while the master bath has a jetted tub that could fit six people.

There’s also a four-car garage, home theater, gym, and guest apartment.

McCaw has owned stakes in several Northwestern sports franchises over the years, including the Canucks and Grizzlies. In 1992, he was part of the Nintendo-led group of investors who bought a controlling stake in the Seattle Mariners, the Seattle Times reported at the time.
