‘This American Life’ Radio Host Ira Glass Selling Chelsea Apartment

That’s New York life: Public radio personality Ira Glass has listed his Chelsea neighborhood apartment, according to the website 6sqft. The one-bedroom condo is on the market for $1.75 million.

The unit comes on the market a year after a dispute with the building’s condo board over an alleged rat and bed bug infestation led to the board filing a lawsuit against him and his wife, Anaheed Alani, for “allowing bedbugs and rats to take hold of [the] Chelsea apartment.”

At the time, Glass told the New York Post, “My understanding is another apartment in the building has bed bugs. We paid a bunch of money for exterminators. As far as I know, it’s been resolved. We’re done.”

The couple purchased the place for $1.27 million in 2012.

Buyers shouldn’t worry about any unwelcome intruders that could “bug” you on the premises. The listing says the apartment is “newly gut renovated and unoccupied.”

With its open layout and south-facing windows, the apartment is spacious and airy. It features an updated kitchen, living room, and dining area.

Brand-new finishes include wide-plank Castle Combe oak flooring throughout. The kitchen comes with stainless-steel appliances, trendy touches of gold, white cabinetry, and python quartzite countertops.

The bath has Toto appliances and floor-to-ceiling tile walls paired with a mosaic tile floor. The tranquil bedroom is “pin-drop quiet” with a huge walk-in closet that has a pass-through dressing room.

The 24-unit building includes a common roof deck, full-time super, and part-time lobby attendant.

The 58-year-old Glass is a producer and host of the popular radio program “This American Life.”
