This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings Are Full of Trump Flavor
A couple of Southern California mansions with ties to Republican nominee Donald Trump are among this week’s most expensive new listings. In the top spot is a $46.5 million estate in Santa Monica belonging to a real estate investor who formed a multimillion-dollar super PAC to back the reality TV star’s presidential bid. And in addition to funneling money directly to the candidate, he used his home (now for sale) to host a fundraiser in late May.
In the third spot, a Beverly Hills home once owned by The Donald himself is back on the market. Sold by the presidential hopeful in 2009, it’s since had most traces of Trump removed and is asking $18 million more than what Trump sold it for.
Aside from the elevated levels of Trumpiness, other pricey new listings include a waterfront Florida home featured in the “Miami Vice” movie, an enormous ranch in the middle of Oregon, and a cool beachfront home near San Diego.
Stick your toes in the sand, and read up on this week’s priciest new properties.
1. 1525 San Vicente Blvd, Santa Monica, CA
Price: $46,500,000 ($1,977 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Site of a pricey (minimum $25,000 a plate) fundraiser for presidential candidate Donald Trump in May, this 23,000-square-foot mansion is on the market just three months later. Insert punchline here. The seller, financier Thomas J. Barrack Jr., bought the home for $24.5 million just a couple of years ago. If the enormous home sells for anywhere close to the nearly doubled asking price, it will smash city real estate records.

2. 400 S Mashta Dr, Key Biscayne, FL
Price: $39,000,000 ($3,250 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Featured in the 2006 movie “Miami Vice,” this waterfront mansion deserves critical praise. While the movie was a dud, this five-bedroom home (with two master bedrooms) earns high marks for elegance and location. Boasting 480 feet of waterfront, the home also features “a 22,000-gallon koi pond that contains more than 200 fish,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

3. 806 N Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills, CA
Price: $29,995,000 ($2,001 per square foot)
Luxe factor: It’s true—Trump slept here, his former home. Sold by “The Apprentice” star in 2009 for $12 million, it’s been extensively renovated over the past seven years. Located on one of the world’s most famous streets, this 11-bedroom mansion is marketed as “one of the most exquisite properties to come on the market in years.” That sounds absolutely Trumpian.

4. 16400 Jordan Rd, Sisters, OR
Price: $24,000,000 ($1,636 per square foot)
Luxe factor: R&B Ranch is more than just a house. It’s a 500-acre ranch in Central Oregon with all sorts of opportunities for entrepreneurs. It’s an event facility and a working horse ranch, and it comes with additional building sites. The property’s main house is an eight-bedroom spread with a home theater and wine cellar—perfect for a cool night near the Cascade Range.

5. 1802 Ocean Front, Del Mar, CA
Price: $21,995,000 ($6,284 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Smack-dab on the beach with unobstructed views of the Pacific, this quaint four-bedroom home is marketed as a slice of the “Hamptons on the Del Mar sand.” Enjoy the sunsets from your back patio, and make sure to turn on the fire pit if it’s a rare cool night in the San Diego area.
