This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings Have Celebrity Connections

This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings Have Celebrity Connections

Homes with a luminous lineage will light up the most expensive new listings every now and then. This week, the top two can brag about their celebrity connections.

In Beverly Hills, Bella Vista comes with serious Hollywood history. Built in 1926, the Mediterranean-style compound evokes a different era of silver screen lore. Listed for just a hair under $30 million, it’s been home to celebs for decades. After testing the market last year for $42.5 million, it’s back with a steep discount.

Tied for second place this week is a Miami mansion once owned by leather pants aficionado Lenny Kravitz. The mansion speaks to extravagance, but in a very tasteful way. We can imagine the talented rocker hosted more than a couple of pool parties out back.

Rounding out our list, we spotted a Balinese-inspired retreat on Oahu’s less-hectic North Shore, a glorious Aspen contemporary, and a brand-new Beverly Hills mansion with a wine room worth toasting to.

Raise your glass and check out this week’s most expensive new listings.

1. 1500 Seabright Pl, Beverly Hills, CA

Price: $29,950,000 (price per square foot unknown)
Luxe factor: This legendary piece of Hollywood history known as Bella Vista lays claim to a distinguished pedigree. Built for director King Vidor and later owned by actor John Barrymore, the property was more recently owned by the late director Tony Scott. Initially listed in September for $42.5 million by Scott’s widow, the seven-bedroom home is back on the market this week for a substantially lower price. The multiple-building compound features a three-bedroom main house, an aviary, and two guesthouses.

2. (tie) 61-779 Papailoa Rd, Haleiwa, HI

Price: $25,000,000 ($4,428 per square foot)
Luxe factor: We don’t see too many eight-digit price tags along Oahu’s North Shore. While Honolulu can lay claim to more than 20 listings topping $10 million each, the second most-expensive home in Haleiwa is listed for just under $10 million. This five-bedroom home on the beach hit the market last year for $25 million, and it’s back to try to catch another wave of potential buyers. The Wall Street Journal called it a “Surfer’s ‘Balinese Monastery’” when it was initially listed. Let us pray!

2. (tie) 1800 W 25th St, Miami, FL

Price: $25,000,000 ($2,084 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Another pricey home with a celeb pedigree. This luxe Sunset Island mansion was once owned by none other than Lenny Kravitz. Measuring 12,000 square feet, the home boasts a private beach, a private boat dock, and, of course, a meditation garden. We don’t have to meditate on it—we’d love to sway in the hammocks overlooking the luxurious backyard pool.

4. 700 Nell Erickson, Aspen, CO

Price: $23,500,000 ($3,677 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Property records indicate this contemporary stunner is the home of Paula Zurcher, the daughter of the folks behind Aspen’s renaissance in the ’40s and ’50s. Designed by Harry Teague, this seven-bedroom home at the base of Red Mountain is made of wood, stucco, metal, and glass. The home takes maximum advantage of the stunning views and boasts an indoor-outdoor flow.

5. 1535 Carla Ridge, Beverly Hills, CA

Price: $21,000,000 (price per square foot unknown)
Luxe factor: Sure, the views of the city below are gorgeous. You’d expect as much. But we must give a shoutout to the brand-new home’s wine storage in the center of the residence: a “fully-enclosed, climate-controlled glass chamber with a 1,000 bottle capacity.” We could spend hours just staring at the way the bottles artfully lie (while sipping a vintage, of course!).
