This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings Offer Amazing Amounts of Land

This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings Offer Amazing Amounts of Land

most expensive new listings for July 7th, 2016

realtor.com

Two ginormous ranches rule this week’s most expensive new listings on realtor.com®. A $45 million, 14,000-acre ranch in California tops the list—and in case you can’t fathom the acreage, it’s 22 square miles. Manhattan is only a shade bigger at 22.82 square miles. So this ranch, located in Carmel Valley, due west of Monterey Bay, could almost be considered a miniature city (complete with a private airstrip) unto itself. Minus the hot dog vendors.

If 14,000 acres is just a bit too much for your mind to handle, you could opt for this week’s runner-up: a not-exactly-modest 8,000-acre ranch in Colorado for $39.8 million. It’s billed as a “four-seasons sportsman’s paradise,” but we’re most intrigued by what the place is like in winter. Why? Because it comes with its own private ski slopes, snowmobile trails, sledding hills, and ski cabin!

While the rest of this week’s priciest five aren’t quite as huge as the top two, there’s still plenty of room to roam. They include a 64-acre spread in New York’s Westchester County and a 40-acre property in the Dallas metro. And if you can’t bear the thought of maintaining all that land, there’s an acre-and-a-half option along the beach in Malibu. For you self-effacing types.

Spread out and meander around this week’s priciest new listings.

1. 35351 E Carmel Valley Rd, Carmel Valley, CA

Price: $45,000,000 ($4,500 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Land, lots of land. 14,000 acres of it, to be exact. Known as Rana Creek Ranch, this 22-square-mile parcel “is the largest private holding in Carmel Valley.” It first hit the market in 2013 for a whopping $60 million, and now it’s back for $15 million less. Featuring a 7,100-square-foot main house, six other residences, a riding arena, an office building, and two barns, it’s more than enough for an aspiring ranch hand.

2. 14N 2941 County Rd, Kremmling, CO

Price: $39,800,000 ($1,910 per square foot)
Luxe factor: It’s another ranch, but with a few luxury amenities we’ve never seen. This 6,000-acre spread has an enormous main house, but more important, it comes equipped with its own private ski slopes and ski cabin! Dubbed the High Plains Ranch, it’s the perfect spot for someone who wants to hit the slopes without all those pesky—what are they called, again?—regular people around. Just a two-hour drive from Denver, the ranch also features a 10,500-square-foot party barn in case you do want to invite some folks over.

3. 77 Oregon Rd, Bedford Corners, NY

Price: $36,000,000 ($3,600 per square foot)
Luxe factor: While it’s not set on thousands of acres, this 64-acre piece of property in posh Westchester County demands attention. The elegant, private home situated on the acreage is a nine-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot brick mansion built in 1927. Exuding vintage, old-money charm, the home has been updated in all the right places. And while you could probably build your own private golf course on the property, you could make do with the indoor golf simulator.
