This Week’s Most Popular Home Has 11 Bedrooms for Only 5K
When we see a listing with 11 bedrooms, we’re like luxury lab rats. Our minds are trained to look for the seven- or eight-digit price tag. Take Donald Trump‘s former Beverly Hills, CA, home. Listed this week, the 11-bedroom home on Rodeo Drive is selling for $30 million. Typical.
But wait! The most-clicked home on realtor.com® this week comes with 11 bedrooms, but it isn’t a million-dollar mansion. In fact, this Illinois house is listed for just a tick above $100,000. How is this even possible?
Well, it’s a former church, so you’ll have to get used to the stained-glass windows in your living room. And it has only 2.5 bathrooms, so you’ll have to pen a bathroom schedule and become an expert in loo logistics. But other than that, we see no downsides to this overstuffed brick manse. When you buy it, let us know—we’d love to see what you do with all those bedrooms.
Besides the bargain-priced converted church, you also clicked on baseball players’ homes, a cool contemporary in Connecticut equipped with its own amphitheater, and a couple of affordable options in Indiana.
While we ponder a move to Illinois, scroll down for the rest of this week’s most popular properties.
10. 8920 SW 60th Ave, Pinecrest, FL
Price: $2,000,000
Why it’s here: We believe there’s an MLB connection. Property records indicate the home belongs to Orlando Hernandez—or El Duque if you’re nasty. The Cuban hurler was notoriously cagey about his actual age, so it’s entirely possible this multimillion-dollar home in the Miami area belongs to a completely different (and younger) Orlando Hernandez.

9. 46 Senff Rd, Washington, CT
Price: $14,900,000
Why it’s here: It’s a contemporary in Connecticut! We love the lines of this stunning five-bedroom home on over 70 acres in Litchfield County. Besides the massive main house, there’s a private pond, 50-seat amphitheater, and squash court. We want it now!
———
8. 780 Champions Close, Alpharetta, GA
Price: $849,000
Why it’s here: Due north of Atlanta, this single-family home could likely fit two or three families under its roof. Located on an acre of land, the seven-bedroom home with all sorts of modern conveniences is only $112 per square foot.
———
7. 1408 Pullen Rd, Tallahassee, FL
Price: $225,000
Why it’s here: Built in 1930, this Florida home is marketed as an alternative to a purchase in Havana. We can’t vouch for Cuba, but vintage charm is blended with modern upgrades, and there’s a guest apartment to provide extra income.

6. 2755 St Rt # 781, Clinton, KY
Price: $175,000
Why it’s here: Yet another old-timer, this brick home was built in 1897 and is a sweet and affordable option for a buyer looking for a slice of history.

5. 2008 Saint Joseph Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN
Price: $87,900

Price: $199,900
Why it’s here: Closer to Chicago than Fort Wayne, this Indiana rancher offers all the affordability Indiana’s known for—at less than $100 per square foot. Plus, there’s an extra wood-paneled bedroom downstairs that’s perfect for the surly teenager in your life.
———
2. 415 Lazy Creek Ln, Nashville, TN
Price: $305,900
Why it’s here: It’s the home of Boston Red Sox All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts. The young slugger is likely on his way to a big payday in the big leagues, so he’s ready to put this townhouse in his rearview mirror.
———
1. 202 S West St, Odell, IL

Why it’s here: There are 11 bedrooms for less than $120,000! Sure, you’d have to share 2.5 bathrooms with your 10 roomies, but we’re sure you can make this former church work. There are 11 big reasons why you should consider relocating your entire extended family to Northern Illinois. Plus—you’ll have the bonus of stained-glass windows in your living room. Let us pray!
