Why it’s here: This is the home of retired NFL star Matt Hasselbeck. Or at least it was while he backed up Andrew Luck with the Indianapolis Colts. Now headed to ESPN to begin his on-camera career as an analyst, Hasselbeck’s put this five-bedroom home on the market.

Why it’s here: Listing agent Chris Oliver told us “everything clicked” when it came to the marketing and sale of this vintage Tudor-style cottage. He said the home’s photos plus an aggressive social media campaign fueled interest in this home, which is priced at double the median price of the local area. The price didn’t dampen buyer interest—the house had only two showings before going into contract.

Why it’s here: “It’s a whole lot for the price,” according to broker Buddy Hodge. For less than the price of a luxury car, a buyer can take possession of a four-bedroom main house, a detached garage with space above, and another, smaller garage. Oh, and a parking lot, too. That’s because the property used to serve as a funeral home. Hodge said it could be converted back into a single-family residence, a business, or a multiple-unit income opportunity.

Why it’s here: Listing agent Damon Heim told us most of the homes in Galena have a historic connection, and the city does a bustling tourist business thanks to its quaint charms. Known as “The Orrin Smith House,” this all-brick Greek Revival was built in 1852 and features a recent restoration that paid particular attention to period detail. Heim added that he expects a buyer to emerge from outside the area and purchase this place as either a retirement location or a second home.

Why it’s here: Listing agent Tameka Goldsborough said this “exquisite and gorgeous” mansion in rural Pennsylvania has been the talk of the town. Goldsborough, who’s shared the home on social media, said the owner has been badgered by folks wanting to know more about his 10-acre spread. She thinks the home would be perfect for an exec who travels the Eastern corridor or an athlete in need of privacy. The gated home an hour outside of Philly also comes with a bonus for car buffs: a 7,000-square-foot garage showroom that can accommodate over 18 cars.

Why it’s here: The home that inspired “The Amityville Horror” slid two spots this week, but it’s still scaring up a frightful amount of interest. This week, the listing agent told the Washington Post they’ve had “several offers from local Amityville residents” who aren’t concerned about the home’s horrific past.
