Mansions cost millions, right? Well, not necessarily. This week’s most popular home on realtor.com® is a mansion priced under a million. In fact, it’s priced below $100,000.
Yes, it’s in Toledo; and yes, it needs some work to bring it into fighting shape. But still, a mansion with a five-digit price tag is a rare beast indeed. The listing agent told us a recent open house attracted more than 1,000 people over two days. He added that this mansion would be worth millions if it were in a major coastal metro—making it a savvy purchase for a buyer who doesn’t mind summering on the Maumee River.
Along with the bargain-priced mansion, you kept clicking on the “Full House” house and the Dallas mansion of Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones. On a creepy note, real estate watchers also clicked on an infamous home in Amityville, NY. The house behind “The Amityville Horror” hit the market this week and scared up a fair amount of buzz.
We promise the rest of this week’s most popular homes are nowhere near as frightening.
10. 5010 Ardenwoods Dr, Charlotte, NC
Price: $250,000
Why it’s here: Curb appeal aplenty in Charlotte. This handsome four-bedroom home is located on “a private and wooded street.” And with over 2,600 square feet of living space, there’s plenty of room for a growing family.

9. 366 Overbrook Rd, Dallas, PA
Price: $395,000
Why it’s here: We’d guess it’s the sports bar in the converted garage. Or perhaps it’s the Tiki bar and outdoor kitchen next to the pool. Either way, this five-bedroom place is ripe for a ragin’ party.
———
8. 2710 Palomino Ln, Las Vegas, NV
Price: $9,500,000
Why it’s here: It’s the Thrilla Villa! Michael Jackson rented this estate for a couple of years before his untimely death in 2009. The ornate details and over-the-top decor in this seven-bedroom home are exactly what you’d expect from the King of Pop.
———
7. 365 Georgetown St, Beaumont, TX
Price: $129,900
Why it’s here: At only $66 per square foot, this townhouse is a Texas-size bargain. And for the reasonable price, a buyer will score a home that’s been “remodeled throughout with upgraded flooring, appliances, fixtures, tile and granite.”
———
6. 385 Sam Nelson Rd, Canton, GA
Price: $267,500
Why it’s here: The price was cut by $2,000 this week on this cool cabin north of Atlanta. A buyer will score 2 acres of land with lovely fruit trees and a decidedly modern twist on cabin life.
———
5. 3900 Miramar Ave, Highland Park, TX
Price: $11,500,000
Why it’s here: The mansion of Dallas Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones remains a subject of fascination in the Big D. Will the boss man buy somewhere else in the metroplex? We humbly suggest Deion Sanders‘ not-so-humble mansion.
———
4. 1540 Gap Creek Rd, Elizabethton, TN
Price: $2,950,000
Why it’s here: The second most expensive home in Carter County offers luxury in East Tennessee. Sitting on just over 29 acres, it could be an equestrian estate thanks to its horse barn and fenced pasture. Or it could be just the spot for a car collector—there’s a six-vehicle garage as well as a full-size gym, which can be converted into additional auto storage.
———
3. 108 Ocean Ave, Amityville, NY
Price: $850,000
Why it’s here: Infamy! Cue the spooky music for the home that inspired the “Amityville Horror.” Supposed paranormal happenings in the ’70s after a family was murdered inside made this house into a legend. Looking stately and sedate in the current listing photos, it shows no signs of its infamous past.
———
2. 1709 Broderick St, San Francisco, CA
Price: $4,150,000
Why it’s here: The “Full House” house remained hot this week, but slid one spot into the runner-up slot. It’ll be a fixture on this list until a brave buyer ponies up the multiple millions to purchase the iconic home.
———
1. 2272 Scottwood Ave, Toledo, OH
Price: $99,995
Why it’s here: It’s fairly simple: It’s a mansion for less than $100,000! Listing agent Ben Howard told us he’s heard from interested buyers from around the country. They are salivating at the thought of buying a nearly 5,000-square-foot home for about $22 per square foot.
Howard said the owners rescued the home from foreclosure a couple of years ago and have spent about $75,000 updating the home’s mechanicals, electrical, and plumbing. As he put it, “The boring stuff is done.”
That’s not to say the house is done—Howard estimates it’s about halfway there and a new owner will have to work on drywall, paint, and cosmetic fixes to finish the job. Classic homes in the area go for upward of $300,000, which makes this fixer-upper a fascinating choice for an aspiring mansion owner.
