Tyra Banks Chops Price of Beverly Hills Mansion to .5M
Smize, though your heart is breaking. Tyra Banks, the beauty who created “America’s Next Top Model,” evidently doesn’t have Beverly Hills’ next top house. The price on her 1926 Spanish Colonial, which she listed last year for $7.75 million, has been chopped again, this time to $6.5 million.
The 5,740-square-foot home features handcrafted tiles on outdoor fountains and stairways, travertine stone and maple wood floors throughout, and clerestory windows overlooking the rolling, green lawns of the quarter-acre lot. The outdoor kitchen with seating for 12 also boasts a fire pit and adjacent pool nested within a walled garden “for absolute comfort and privacy,” the listing says.
The manse, which Banks bought in 2003 for $1.87 million, also contains a master suite with city views, adjoining sitting room and bathroom with built-in hair and makeup vanity, and a walk-in closet that doubles as a safe room, Variety says.
A quick sale will add to the joy Banks and her boyfriend, Norwegian photographer Erik Asla, feel after the recent arrival, via gestational surrogate, of their baby son, York.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy,” Banks told People. “The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik.”
Banks, 42, has talked openly about the challenges of becoming pregnant after 40 and the trauma of undergoing infertility treatment. “I don’t just want one child. I want a litter!” she told the magazine. “And I want to be the kind of mom where my child can come to me for anything.”
