Viva Vallejo! Hot Homes in the 10 Hottest Markets

Viva Vallejo! Hot Homes in the 10 Hottest Markets

For the second month in a row, Vallejo brings the heat. The sleepy (and formerly bankrupt) city in San Francisco’s North Bay is officially the hottest market on realtor.com® for the month of June.

Vallejo is just one of seven California metros that continue to sizzle on our list of the hottest towns for real estate. According to our chief economist, Jonathan Smoke, “California markets tend to be fairly consistent—we don’t see huge changes.” Sunny skies, check; houses that sell like hotcakes, check.

Still, while second-place San Francisco dominates headlines nationwide with its steep price increases, San Jose fell out of our top 10 for the first time in months.

We also witnessed the debut of Fort Wayne. Bargain hunters have made their way to Indiana in search of sweet deals—Fort Wayne’s median home price is currently a low, low, low $110,000.

Savvy buyers in Indiana must scoff at the prices being paid in the red-hot Golden State markets. In fact, Fort Wayne home buyers are paying a measly $54 per square foot. Take that, $1,000-per-square-foot Beverly Hills!
