We Go Deep Inside the ‘MacMansions’ of UFC Champ Conor McGregor
We know MMA fighter and boxer Conor McGregor can defend himself. But when he lets his guard down, where does he lay his well-coiffed head?
It turns out, the 29-year-old Dubliner is a man with a foot on two continents—leasing luxury homes in Las Vegas and owning a home in Dublin, Ireland, all of which he shares with his longtime girlfriend, Dee Devlin.
When he’s not at one of his homes, the reigning UFC lightweight champion and former UFC featherweight champion is busy training for his upcoming bout against boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He’ll be crossing disciplines and donning boxing gloves for the first time to face the formidable Mayweather this weekend. McGregor’s move out of the Octagon and into the boxing ring has been derided as a sideshow and a sham, but one thing is certain: It will be a major payday for the Irish MMA star.
“Mac” has risen like a meteor on the fight scene, and his bank balance has kept pace with his fame, making the “MacMansion,” as he calls it, a reality. Here’s a look back at his lavish homes, along with some insider insights on his time there.
First MacMansion
When McGregor arrived in Vegas to train for UFC 189, he was scheduled to square off with Jose Aldo. In prepping for the big bout scheduled for July 2015, the Irishman took up residence in a mansion in nearby Henderson, NV.
The 12,000-square-foot home features six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, which offered plenty of space for his entourage. Aldo had to bow out of the fight because of a fractured rib, so McGregor wound up squaring off against Chad Mendes. For all the time he spent holed up in the first MacMansion, the actual fight lasted less than five minutes, with McGregor winning in the second round by TKO.
We’d say the home he rented is a winner as well. Dubbed “Ville de Soleil,” this sunny spot includes views of the nearby mountains and the Las Vegas Strip. The home sports a gym, sauna, office, and game room. Outside, there are patios, fire pits, waterfalls, and a pool with spa.
The grand foyer opens to indestructible travertine floors, an open floor plan, coffered ceilings, and water walls.
In a video tour of his house, McGregor shows off the big backyard before getting a rubdown from a personal masseuse.
“There’s a great vibe in the house,” he says, noting how the floor-to-ceiling glass windows create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
He also points to his favorite part of the mansion. It’s not the pool. Nor is it the grand kitchen. Rather, it’s the humble elevator. We don’t blame the guy—hiking up to his third-floor bedroom after a day of rigorous training isn’t exactly appealing.
Best of all? If you want to live like a champ, McGregor’s former rental home is currently on the market for $3 million.
McGregor “enjoyed Ville de Soleil immensely. It had all the amenities he wanted: sensational indoor-outdoor design, a luxurious oversized master bedroom suite, meticulous attention to detail, smart technology, and a wonderful ambiance,” says the listing agent, Kristen Routh-Silberman of Synergy Sotheby’s International Realty.
Second MacMansion
McGregor and Aldo finally faced off at UFC 194 in December 2015. Aiming for an even more luxurious rental, McGregor leased the home known as Vegas Views.
“He’s a great guy, and he’s welcome any time he wants to come. He’s a total gentleman. He respected the home and took great care of the place,” says Vegas Views owner Troy Stallings.
According to Kamran Zand, a Las Vegas–based broker and founder of Luxury Estates, this home is exactly what big ballers are looking for.
“We’ve helped opponents, including past opponents for Mayweather, find temporary homes while preparing for a big fight. Most of our clients in these situations are looking for large homes that can accommodate the athlete’s staff. They need large lots that are very private. This allows them to have the peace of mind to train without being disturbed,” says Zand.
McGregor was happy to provide a tour of his digs in a video clip that’s now been viewed more than 1.5 million times on YouTube. In the clip, he welcomes viewers through the enormous double doors and takes them straight to the kitchen.
“My favorite part,” he says, pointing to the food storage space. “We don’t have pantries back home.”
We also get a peek inside his fridge, which is stocked with “good-quality meats, good green veg,” racks of eggs, and salmon. If you’re ever over at the Notorious McGregor’s home, don’t expect to dig into a doughnut. House rules state “no processed sugars.”
But you certainly could find plenty of places to work out. There’s an infinity pool, spa, gym, and pitch and putt.
The six-bedroom estate is located on Sunrise Mountain, overlooking Las Vegas. And while McGregor might have been focused on the kitchen and the gym, his posse most likely luxuriated in the stunning covered terrace, met in the dramatic red-floored conference room, and called dibs on the themed bedrooms: the glamour suite, peacock suite, zebra suite, and Zen suite.
The home must have been just right for training, as McGregor devastated Aldo with a knockout 13 seconds into the first round, the fastest victory in UFC title fight history.
Stallings told us McGregor isn’t using Vegas Views as his base as he preps for Mayweather. There are rumors that McGregor bought his own place in the Nevada desert, but we haven’t tracked it down … yet.
Dublin MacMansion
But we do know he bought a place back home. The Irish fighter reportedly purchased a $2.4 million home in Dublin. The residence, part of an exclusive golf community, is located on the grounds of the Ladycastle course of the renowned K Club Hotel and Spa, in Kildare.
According to the Sunday World, the home is also where he’s parked a fleet of luxury vehicles, including a number of BMW 5 Series cars for his parents and sisters.
The former plumber’s apprentice seems to like to treat his family. Now that he’s got some serious cash, the good son got his mom into a swanky home of her own—or possibly renovated her old house.
According to TMZ, he left his mark in the kitchen, etching his nickname “Notorious” into the drawers. That will surely remind his mom to get his favorite foods whenever he visits.
