Buyers armed with $1 million to spend on their next home (or at least a mortgage pre-approval for that much) can expect a dose of luxury in most parts of the country. But once you’ve decided a chef’s kitchen is integral to your happiness as a homeowner, your choice boils down to location, location, and location.

We zeroed in on what homes with a seven-digit price tag look like right now—ruling out the “handyman specials,” of course—and found a mix of new and old. Some locales (hello, San Francisco!) don’t offer as much living space, but all of these places are move-in ready.

So here’s what a millionaire’s budget will buy you in 10 large U.S. cities at the moment.
