Well-Traveled QB Josh McCown’s Carolina Home Is Listed for .2M
Josh McCown quarterbacked the putrid Cleveland Browns for a stretch in 2016 and then signed on for the thankless job of quarterback with the New York Jets in 2017. However, the well-traveled signal caller does have something to be thankful for: the quick sale of his offseason home in Waxhaw, NC.
McCown’s 5,576-square-foot home went on the market for $1.2 million just a week ago and is already in pending sale status.
The five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom mansion sits on an acre lot in the Charlotte suburb.
“The cool thing about the McCowns’ house is that it’s very family-friendly,” says listing agent Jody Munn. “But it has very outstanding architectural details,” including dark wood flooring, high ceilings, and large windows.
One unique feature of the property is found in its walls—or lack thereof. The interior, designed by local firm Holevas & Holton, features a minimalist design, where one room flows into another.
“This house is a very open-concept floor plan,” Munn says. “The great room flows into the dining room, flows effortlessly into the kitchen. The kitchen flows into the keeping room.”
The backyard—McCown’s favorite part of the home—includes a saltwater pool, fire pit, tanning ledge, and spacious lawn for McCown to work on his spiral. Inside, he likely spent many hours in the exercise room.
“It’s just a really cool house,” Munn says. “It’s a very well-cared for, well-appointed home. It’s not a museum.”
