Now here’s one way to get up, up and away from the great unwashed.

Earlier this month, Boeing revealed a 787 Dreamliner with a fully bespoke interior at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition in Geneva. China’s HNA Aviation Group will take delivery of the plane in July.

Aircraft consultancy Kestrel Aviation Management has transformed the plane’s 2,400-square-foot interior into a luxury space with amenities reminiscent of penthouses on land. With the help of Pierrejean Design Studios and Greenpoint Technologies, Kestrel furnished the Dreamliner with USD100 million in interior customisations over two years.

First flown in December 2013, this Dreamliner is unique in that it was built specifically as a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).

Unlike its commercial brethren, the aircraft is made to accommodate only 40 passengers. At full capacity, including luggage and fuel, the BBJ 787 flies nonstop for 17 hours and boasts a range of around 9,800 miles.

This customised Dreamliner features a master suite that comes complete with a California king-size bed and a walk-in closet. A sizable bathroom, one of several others, offers marble sinks and showers with heated marble floors.

Kestrel Aviation CEO Stephen Vella told Business Insider that the master suite is an “oasis of silence,” with its noise level tempered to 48 decibels.

The plane also carries a spacious lounge and dining area with electronically controlled divans and coffee tables, lay-flat armchairs, couches, and flat-screen displays. Guests can use any of 18 first-class sleeper seats in the main cabin, as well as six premium economy seats to the rear.

The total cost of the plane and its luxury transformation? Why, a snip at $325 million.
